Brighton Chamber
A growing team, IT that’s easy to reach, and problems that get sorted before they become dramas.
Watch Sarah’s story (1 min)IT support that’s grown with them
Brighton Chamber connects and supports businesses across the city, so their team needs IT that just works and lets them focus on their members.
We’ve looked after their tech since 2014. Here’s how it started, and why Sarah, their CEO, says problems don’t become dramas.
Ingenio are serious about tech and they know what they’re doing, but they’re also really warm and friendly human beings.

Sarah Springford, CEO, Brighton Chamber: So I’m Sarah Springford from Brighton Chamber, and I’m the CEO. Ingenio have been looking after Brighton Chamber’s tech since 2014.
Being Brighton Chamber, we have lots of members and I find myself often talking to people about how they’ve had three days where they haven’t had any access to their emails, or they’ve had some sort of meltdown, or they’ve started a new role and their tech hasn’t been sorted out for 48 hours or something. We don’t really have that.
In fact, the other day I did actually have something where my SharePoint wasn’t syncing and I couldn’t access it online, and I spoke to Cameron, and by the time I’d had a cup of tea, it was all sorted.
The best thing about working with Ingenio is probably the people. We’ve got to know them. They’re friendly, and they are responsive and quick and explain what they’re doing, and they just make it really easy for us. Sorting things out quickly is really important.
A growing team that needed more support
Brighton Chamber first got to know us as fellow Chamber members. Sarah got chatting with Simon about how we help growing businesses, and the timing was right: the Chamber was growing, and it was clear they needed more support with their IT.
Her team worked across different offices and locations, and often from home. So whoever looked after their IT had to be easy to reach, and able to sort things out wherever people were working.
A local team that’s easy to reach
We were local, our team was easy to contact, and our engineers could jump onto the team’s laptops and fix things remotely. As the Chamber has grown, the support has grown with it.
We moved them over to Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, which Sarah calls “a really smooth transition”, and the move brought extra security with it, something she has talked through with Simon along the way. More recently, we helped tighten up how starters and leavers are handled, with a simple process for both.
Sarah values how we work as much as what we do. We explain what we’re doing, we listen, and we fit bigger jobs around the Chamber’s diary, like upgrading their devices to Windows 11 out of hours.
Problems don’t become dramas
Sarah often hears IT horror stories from members: three days without email, systems falling over, new starters waiting 48 hours for working tech. “We don’t really have that,” she says.
Problems are rare, and when they do happen they’re fixed fast. When her SharePoint stopped syncing, our team had it sorted by the time she’d had a cup of tea. Lost documents have been recovered, so losing data is “a box that we’ve ticked now”, and on security, Sarah feels “we’re in a good place.”
The best thing about working with Ingenio is probably the people. They’re friendly, responsive and quick, explain what they’re doing, and they just make it really easy for us.
Key highlights
Fixed before the kettle’s boiled
Day-to-day problems, like a SharePoint sync issue, are sorted in minutes, not days.
Lost files, found again
When documents have gone missing, we’ve recovered them, so data loss isn’t something the team worries about.
Booked in on their timescale
We plan work around the Chamber’s calendar, not ours. If a date doesn’t suit, we move it, so IT never becomes an extra headache for the team.
“We’ve worked with the team at Ingenio for a number of years for our managed IT support, and always find their team to be helpful, efficient, reliable and easy to work with – providing excellent service whilst keeping our tech up-to-date and secure.”
